Five years after its official launch on 19 July 2021, the Raine & Horne Foundation has become a key part of the group's 143-year tradition of giving, raising nearly $1.2 million to support charities that strengthen Australian communities.

Yet for Raine & Horne, community service didn't begin in 2021, and it has been part of the company's DNA for generations. Angus Raine, Executive Chairman of Raine & Horne and Raine & Horne similarly prides itself on being an outstanding corporate citizen.

Marking the formalisation of giving back

On 19 July 2021, Raine & Horne formalised its social and corporate responsibility activities with the launch of the Raine & Horne Foundation that supports a select yet broad number of charitable organisations annually. To date, the foundation has raised a stunning $1.2 million, including over $220,000 for the 2025/26 financial year.

As part of its 2021 launch, the Raine & Horne Foundation announced it would help combat homelessness by partnering with a wonderful not-for-profit charity called Dignity – and this partnership continues today. By empowering people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, Dignity keeps people, families and communities at the heart of everything they do, providing essential services such as a safe place, nourishing food and fresh clothes.

In recognition of the Foundation's support, Dignity named one of its guest houses Raine & Horne Foundation House to show its appreciation for the continued support. The house provides self-contained supported temporary accommodation for people experiencing homelessness, including men, women, and couples, with on-site support to empower people to find their path out of homelessness. With eleven furnished, self-contained units, the House offers more than 4,000 nights of accommodation every year.

Entering a new financial year with more partnerships

In addition to reaffirming its partnership with Dignity, the Raine & Horne Foundation has committed to raising more than $200,000 for another long-term partner, Rural Aid, in 2026. Since becoming a Silver Partner in December 2023, the Foundation has already raised more than $175,000 to help strengthen rural and regional communities through practical assistance, mental health services and disaster recovery programs. In an outstanding achievement, a Matched Giving Day campaign in early June raised $100,000, thanks to the Foundation's dollar-for-dollar matching. A second Matched Giving Day will be held in the lead-up to Christmas to help raise an additional $100,000.

Extending the reach of the Foundation

The Foundation has also expanded its charitable reach for the 2026/27 financial year by establishing new partnerships with Assistance Dogs Australia, RISE Initiative, and Operation Flinders.

Since 1996, Assistance Dogs Australia has trained and placed life-changing dogs with people who need them most. Each dog brings independence, confidence and connection while remaining completely free of charge to their new owner.

The Foundation is also supporting the RISE Initiative, including its Thrive app, which provides mental health tools and resources to professionals working across the real estate and property industry.

The Foundation is also partnering with Operation Flinders to support its evidence-based remote outback intervention programs, which help young people facing life challenges to reach their potential through building connection, resilience and purpose.

Wide-ranging support for the community

Over the past five years, The Raine & Horne Foundation has also supported the Great Barrier Reef Foundation and its efforts to protect the endangered green turtles of Raine Island, named after Raine & Horne co-founder Tom Raine’s grandfather and explorer Captain Thomas Raine. Captain Raine recorded the island’s presence on his first journey north from Sydney as the skipper of the famous Surry in 1815

The Foundation has also supported international disaster relief initiatives, including CARE Australia’s Türkiye and Syria Earthquake Appeal following the devastating earthquakes of February 2023.

Funding the Foundation

The Raine & Horne Foundation is supported by contributions to the marketing fund by Raine & Horne's 360-strong global office network. To this end, the Foundation's board includes members of Raine & Horne's Franchise Advisory Council (FAC) and of Raine & Horne Holdings' directors, including Angus and Non-Executive Director Brian Reid.

Angus summed up, “The Foundation has become a wonderful way for our offices to support the communities in which they live and work. The enthusiasm and generosity shown across our network has been incredibly pleasing, and we look forward to building on that legacy in the years ahead.”
