Media release - 21st May, 2014

Former Raine & Horne principal and expert auctioneer, Michael Carolan, has returned to where it all began in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, joining Raine & Horne Commercial Bondi Junction after six years working in residential and commercial real estate in Dubbo.

Michael CarolanMr Carolan was a co-principal of Raine & Horne Dubbo between 1988 and 2008 and a residential and commercial manager with Raine & Horne Bondi Junction and Raine & Horne Double Bay from 1981 until 1986.

In the early 1980s, Raine & Horne Bondi Junction and Raine & Horne Double Bay were company-owned offices and Mr Carolan reported directly to real estate doyen Max Raine.

“Possessing a wealth of knowledge and experience, Michael is exceptionally skilled in all areas of real estate and works tirelessly to ensure superior service and success for his clients,” says Angus Raine, Executive Chairman and CEO of Raine & Horne Commercial.

“Returning to Raine & Horne Commercial Bondi Junction and working with Michael Laing, who he has known for more than 20 years, is an exciting new chapter in Michael’s career journey.”

According to Michael Laing, co-Principal of Raine & Horne Commercial Bondi Junction, Michael Carolan is a dedicated and driven property professional, who is expert in interpreting the complexities and unique attributes of the retail, commercial and industrial property sectors.

“He really enjoys sharing his wealth of experience, knowledge and recommendations, which in turn guides his clients to help them fulfil their individual commercial real estate requirements.

“Michael’s combination of ethical practices, quality service and focus on his clients’ needs, together with his excellent knowledge of the local market and open, friendly manner, is an asset to the team at Raine & Horne Commercial Bondi Junction, and I can’t wait to work with him.”

Mr Carolan describes the Eastern Suburbs commercial leasing market “as steady and stable”.

“There are good quality tenants out there looking for the right commercial premises,” he says.

“The commercial sales and development market is still very strong and we have a number of qualified investors and developers on our books looking for opportunities.”

“After cutting my teeth in commercial sales and leasing in retail and industrial property in Dubbo, I’m looking forward to operating in the vibrant commercial and retail sales and leasing markets in the Sydney CBD and the Eastern Suburbs.”

In relation to his return to the Raine & Horne fold, Mr Carolan is pleased that family firm is still in the hands of the Raine family and that the values and culture developed over the last 131 years have not altered.

“As soon as Angus Raine heard I was returning, he was straight on the phone and we will catch up shortly,” says Mr Carolan.
