Raine & Horne Foundation helps deliver $100,000 boost for farming communities through Rural Aid

July 2, 2026

The Raine & Horne Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Raine & Horne, has helped raise $100,000 for Australian farmers and rural communities through its support of Rural Aid's Matched Giving Day from 4-6 June 2026.

In an amazing achievement, the Matched Giving Day event raised $50,000 from the donations of charitable Australians that will be matched dollar for dollar by Raine & Horne, resulting in a total of $100,000 raised.

The latest commitment means the Raine & Horne Foundation has raised more than $1.1 million over the past five years across key causes, including support for homelessness, disaster relief, and environmental conservation.

The Foundation is supported by contributions from Raine & Horne’s global network of more than 360 offices, reflecting a long-standing commitment to giving back to the communities it serves since its launch by founders Tom Raine and Joseph Horne on 23 May 1883.

The matched giving initiative follows the Foundation’s renewed partnership with Rural Aid, Australia’s leading charity supporting farmers, their families and rural communities. The partnership reinforces a shared commitment to helping farming families navigate the challenges of drought, fire and flood, as well as the ongoing social, emotional and financial pressures that are a part of life on the land.

As a Silver Partner since December 2023, the Raine & Horne Foundation has already raised over $175,000 for Rural Aid. This support has been used to help strengthen support for rural and regional communities across Australia through practical assistance, mental health services and disaster recovery programs.

Angus RaineExecutive Chairman of Raine & Horne, said the partnership with Rural Aid reflects the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to creating meaningful and lasting social impact.

“Rural communities are the backbone of the Australian economy, yet many farming families continue to face extraordinary challenges,” he said.

“Through Rural Aid’s Matched Giving Day, every dollar pledged by Australians can go twice as far through the support of the Raine & Horne Foundation, helping to provide immediate support such as water deliveries, hay for livestock, financial assistance and professional counselling and mental health services.

“Our partnership with Rural Aid underlines the Raine & Horne Foundation’s commitment to supporting communities when they need it most.

“We believe this partnership will help strengthen the resilience of rural and regional Australia while creating a lasting positive impact for farming families facing difficult circumstances.”

Established in 2015, Rural Aid provides financial assistance, counselling, water and hay deliveries, and volunteer support to farming communities impacted by natural disasters. Over the past eleven years, the charitable organisation has raised and distributed more than $100 million in support and has over 18,000 registered farmers receiving assistance.

John Warlters, Chief Executive Officer of Rural Aid, said the partnership with the Raine & Horne Foundation is helping strengthen support for farming communities across Australia.

“Partnerships such as the one with the Raine & Horne Foundation help us show up, listen and act in rural communities across Australia,” John said.

“Together, we strengthen the prevention, preparedness and recovery work that supports farmers and their families through challenging times.

“With the support of partners like the Raine & Horne Foundation, we’re able to stand alongside farmers before, during and after adversity, helping communities stay strong, connected and hopeful for the future.”

$1.1 million raised and counting as Raine & Horne Foundation broadens community impact

The Rural Aid partnership forms part of the Raine & Horne Foundation’s expanding charitable program.

Over the past five years, the Foundation has raised more than $1.1 million and provided significant support to a range of charitable and community organisations across Australia and internationally.

Beyond its partnership with Rural Aid, the Foundation supports Dignity in its fight to end homelessness, and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation and its efforts to protect the endangered green turtles of Raine Island.

The Foundation has also supported international disaster relief initiatives, including CARE Australia’s Türkiye and Syria Earthquake Appeal following the devastating earthquakes of February 2023.
