Sydney, NSW (21 March 2026): A record crowd of almost 650 turned out for the 2025 Raine & Horne NSW and ACT Awards for Excellence, making it one of the biggest events in the brand’s 143-year history, with Penrith commercial and retail property heavyweight Colin Henry taking out one of the top honours, the Max Raine Award.

The prestigious award was presented to Mr Henry, Managing Director of Raine & Horne Commercial Penrith and Raine & Horne Retail Services, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the network over more than three decades.

Named in honour of Max Raine, the visionary leader who helped shape Raine & Horne into one of Australasia’s most respected real estate brands, the award celebrates individuals who embody the values of leadership, growth, mentorship and entrepreneurial spirit.

Mr Henry joined Raine & Horne Penrith in 1988 after a career in residential real estate and, three years later, became the principal of Raine & Horne Commercial Penrith. He has since built a highly successful business employing over 40 staff and was recognised with the Max Raine Award for his unwavering commitment to developing people, fostering a high-performance culture, and continually evolving his business.

During his stellar career, Mr Henry has been responsible for some of Western Sydney’s most significant commercial transactions, including the $58 million sale of At Home on Mulgoa Road, Penrith, and the $40 million sale of the Glenmore Park Town Centre.

Angus Raine, Executive Chairman of Raine & Horne, said Mr Henry’s influence on the network and the broader industry and the communities around Penrith had been profound.

“Colin has built an extraordinary career and left a lasting impact on everyone he works with,” Mr Raine said.

“He’s widely known as the ultimate networker – as someone who connects people, inspires his team and drives growth wherever he goes.

“Across more than 40 years, he has shown incredible loyalty to the Penrith community, including long-standing support of rugby league and his beloved Penrith Panthers, and he has a genuine commitment to the people around him.

“Colin is a mentor, a leader and a coach whose guidance has shaped countless careers across our industry and the Raine & Horne network.”

Mr Raine also highlighted Mr Henry’s forward-thinking approach to business, including the recent rebranding of his extensive portfolio of shopping centre managements under Raine & Horne Retail Services.

Entrepreneurial vision backed by the Raine & Horne Commercial brand

Launching with more than 40 retail property specialists, the business is already one of the leading Sydney-based shopping centre management firms, overseeing 20 neighbourhood centres and a having staff based in nine centres across New South Wales and Queensland, with approximately $120 million in annual rent collection. Mr Henry and his team now have their sights set on expanding their management portfolio.

“This move reflects Colin’s entrepreneurial mindset and his belief in the strength of our network,” Mr Raine said.

“He is always looking ahead and is constantly seeking new opportunities to grow his business and expand his impact.”

In accepting the award, Mr Henry paid tribute to the people who have supported him throughout his journey.

“I’d just like to thank the fabulous team that I work with and Angus Raine – and Max before him - for supporting me for so long. It’s a great brand,” Mr Henry said.

“We started with one sales agent in 1991, Brett Lobb, who played on the wing for Penrith,” Mr Henry recalled. While Mr Lobb is no longer in the business, Mr Henry remains the Panthers’ longest serving corporate sponsor, having clocked up 40 years of support in 2026.

Mr Henry’s recognition continues his legacy of excellence within the network. In 2013, he received the Graeme Skarratt OAM Award, another highly regarded individual honour in the Raine & Horne Group. Mr Skarratt was another significant figure in the company’s history, serving the business for almost 60 years and working alongside three generations of the Raine family, Ned, Max and Angus.

Mr Henry recalled, “I have fond memories of spending time with Max and Graeme at training conferences early in my career with Raine & Horne Commercial. Those experiences stayed with me over many years, so it’s a tremendous honour to have receive awards named in their honour.”
