ONE MILLION SQUARE METRES OF OFFICE SPACE – PARRAMATTA CBD

The City of Parramatta has a bold vision to grow the shape and size of the Parramatta CBD. Over the last two years, Parramatta has grown a considerable amount. In the past decade, there’s been $10 billion of investment in the CBD and there’s still a huge pipeline to go.

The most recent component of Parramatta's redevelopment is the new 28-story office building at 32 Smith Street, which is the first tower seen when entering the city from the north and connecting the river to the city. The space totals 27,200 square metres (approx.) and is now 82 per cent let with only three floors remaining (currently under negotiations).

Another of Parramatta's newest landmarks, the $2.7 billion Parramatta Square complex on three hectares in the centre of the city. New city council chambers, a public library, a vertical campus for the University of Western Sydney, four towers of 240,000 square metres of new office and retail space, and 10,000 square metres of public domain are all included in the development.

Further projects that helped propel the CBD’s office stock is 8 Parramatta Square, which has over 50,000 square metres of office space and 85 Macquarie St, which will have over 10,000 square metres.

A couple other monumental infrastructure projects include the Powerhouse Museum, the West Connex, Metro West, Light Rail Lines and vast additional future developments that are contributing a significant amount to the substantial milestone Parramatta is projected to reach this year, a total of one million square metres of office space.
