- Prime Brisbane fast-food sites anchor Raine & Horne Commercial’s Q4 2025 National Auction Event
In November, Raine & Horne Commercial held its latest quarterly National Auction Event. This two-day event is a much-anticipated date on the commercial real estate calendar and didn’t disappoint, rewarding both vendors and buyers with exceptional results.
Since its launch in November 2023, the Raine & Horne Commercial National Auction Event has generated over $150 million in sales.
The 2025 auction series featured 12 outstanding commercial properties across NSW and Queensland.
The event kicked off with in-room bidding at Raine & Horne Commercial Brisbane North's Kedron premises. The action moved to Sydney the following day, with in-room and online bidding hosted by leading auctioneer Jesse Davidson of AuctionWorks.
Several properties were sold prior
Highlighting the strength of the commercial property market, a number of properties listed for sale at auction were sold prior.
This is not unusual. A strong auction campaign generates intense buyer interest, and this can bring sales forward.
Chris Nicholl, CEO of Raine & Horne, explains, “An outstanding freehold commercial asset at 42 Morilla Street, Lightning Ridge, NSW, in the heart of the Lightning Ridge CBD, leased to Westpac and delivering a net income of $84,500, sold prior to the National Auction Event.
The property was sold for an undisclosed price by Raine & Horne Commercial Dubbo.”
Fast food sites prove the winner
Notwithstanding prior sales, the National Auction Event had plenty left in the tank to attract buyers.
Highlights included two prime freehold lots in Brisbane’s busy northern corridor, anchored by blue-chip quick-service restaurant (QSR) brands – Red Rooster in the case of Lot 4, 1650 Anzac Avenue, North Lakes, which sold prior to auction for an undisclosed sum, and The Cheesecake Shop in regard to Lot 3 1650 Anzac Avenue, North Lakes, QLD.
Both properties were listed for sale by Trent Bruce and Luke Hobman of the award-winning Raine & Horne Commercial Brisbane North.
“Assets with high-calibre QSR tenants are always in high demand,” Trent said. “Brands such as Red Rooster and The Cheesecake Shop come with long leases, strong trading histories, and comparatively lower risk of vacancy or turnover.”
Trent added that the strength of the fast-food category reflects its “recession-proof” nature. “Investors see these as stable, reliable income-producing assets that perform well regardless of broader economic conditions.
“Moreover, drive-through QSR properties like these typically have strong customer access, including high visibility and traffic access, which makes them attractive.”
