Darwin real estate office named among Australia’s best at national awards

JULY 31, 2018

Leading NT real estate firm, Raine & Horne Darwin has scored a massive win at the 2018 Raine & Horne National Awards, held on the Gold Coast this week.

The Parap based firm was named in Raine & Horne’s Top Offices – Number of Sales, making it the only office outside New South Wales to make the list.

“It’s been a challenging few years for the Darwin real estate market, but we’ve been consistent for the volume of sales we’ve been producing,” said Glenn Grantham, General Manager, Raine & Horne Darwin.

“We have run lean and very efficiently compared to other offices in Darwin.”

Raine & Horne Darwin employs only three salespeople and two support staff, which Mr Grantham says puts its placing among Raine & Horne’s Top 10 offices in perspective.

“We are competing with multi-offices in NSW and Queensland that employ up to 100 staff, so this recognition is a fantastic achievement for our team.

“We don’t carry a huge amount of stock. However, we ensure the stock we carry is saleable. We don’t pull any punches with vendors when it comes to the market value of their properties. This approach ensures we have a very high listing to sale conversion ratio.”

Mr Grantham was thrilled his office was the only non-NSW office on the illustrious list of Raine & Horne's best offices.

“There were nine NSW offices and us. There wasn’t one office in Victoria, Queensland, South Australia or any of the others.”

Other winners from Raine & Horne Darwin include Adam McCann who scored second place in the Top Salesperson – Number of Sales category, while Amanda Feely was named Outstanding Property Manager for the network.

Looking ahead, Mr Grantham said the rebounding Darwin real estate market augers well for the remainder of 2018 and the start of 2019.

“In the third week of July, our enquiries were up 35% compared to the third week last month,” Mr Grantham commented.

“We believe that now that we’ve passed into a new financial year, some people are looking around for their next property play. The news and commentary that the Darwin market has hit the bottom of the cycle is starting to filter through.

“Consequently, we are seeing more committed buyers as we are getting more requests for private inspections rather than rubbernecking. There are higher volumes of people wandering around and they are serious.”
