Brisbane’s Western Corridor comprises the regionally significant industrial area in Brisbane’s south-west incorporating Carole Park, Darra, Sumner, Wacol and Richlands.

It is home to many large users, with several new industrial estates developed recently, and more planned for the future.

Wacol – About 18 km south-west of Brisbane’s CBD, on the Brisbane-Ipswich railway line. Important industrial area for the Brisbane–Ipswich corridor. Comprising 436 acres (176.6 hectares), with a further 1,100 acres (445.5 hectares) earmarked for heavy industrial development. Comprises semi-industrial and residential areas. Ipswich Motorway crosses the suburb. Logan Motorway connects to Ipswich Motorway in the suburb’s south.

Carole Park – A suburb of both Ipswich and Brisbane, about 19km south-west of Brisbane’s CBD. Carole Park Industrial Estate is part of the regionally significant industrial area in the south-west of Brisbane incorporating Darra, Sumner, Wacol and Richlands. Strategically located to take advantage of main transport routes. Sites remaining suit low impact industries. Also home to a waste water treatment plant and a substation. Suburb is half industrial, half residential, with the Logan Motorway separating the two.

Darra – About 15km south-west of Brisbane’s CBD. Industrial and residential, on the Ipswich to Brisbane railway line. Part of the regionally significant industrial area in the south-west of Brisbane incorporating Carole Park, Darra, Sumner, Wacol and Richlands. Strategically located to take advantage of main transport routes.

Richlands – About 16km south-west of the CBD. Predominantly industrial. Part of the regionally significant industrial area in the south-west of Brisbane incorporating Carole Park, Darra, Sumner, Wacol and Richlands. Strategically located to take advantage of main transport routes. QLD’s Coca-Cola supply is made here.

Sumner – About 15km south-west of Brisbane’s CBD. Home to well-established Sumner Park Industrial Estate. Part of the regionally significant industrial area in the south-west of Brisbane.

Seventeen Mile Rocks – About 11km south-west of Brisbane’s CBD. An industrial suburb with increasing residential component. Great access to Ipswich and Centenary Motorways.

Heathwood – About 21km south-west of Brisbane’s CBD. Includes industrial estates and residential, separated by the Logan Motorway. Excellent access to Logan and Ipswich Motorways. Well serviced by a strong blue collar workforce. Home to many manufacturers, distribution companies and major corporate, including the Coles Myer regional distribution centre.
