QUICK OFFER BUYS A RARE BOWEN HILLS OFFICE ASSET 13-11-15

CHRIS HERDE

AN ANONYMOUS buyer jumped the gun and snapped up a rare freestanding office building in the heart of the urban  renewal precinct of Bowen Hills.

Through a representative the new owner paid $1.4 million off-market for the coveted warehouse at 22 Hamilton Place.

Raine & Horne Commercial’s Alex McSweeney, who struck the deal with Trent Bruce, said the property was about a week away from hitting the market when the deal was struck.

“Before we were going to market it we were contacted by the new owners’ representative. They submitted an offer and we got to the deal,” he said.

The property is on a 407sqm freehold site and offers about 380sqm of commercial office space with the 80sqm mezzanine vacant.

The 300sqm ground floor office with polished concrete floors and high ceilings is leased for storage by the Anglican Church on a month-to month basis.

Mr Bruce said freestanding commercial buildings under $2 million were in very short supply in Bowen Hills.
