26/08/2011- A short roll to new premises

A Tyre retail and servicing company has settled into new premise in Brisbane’s north to accommodate some of Australia’s biggest trucks.

Tyres Cash & Carry secured a 5 + 5 year lease on a warehouse, office and factory at 1/70A Lavarack Ave, Eagle Farm, for $145,000 per year.

The premises form part of the larger 4406sqm 70 Lavarack Ave site, which is shared with another tenancy. The new location, on the same street as the company’s old premises, comprises a 1664sqm factory, a 1246sqm warehouse and 418sqm of office space spread across two levels.

A portion of the office space surplus to the company’s needs has been subleased. The tyre retail outlet focused on truck tyres, and provides fitting and servicing of tyres for all types of vehicles from passenger vehicles to the maximum-sized 26m B-double trucks.

Company director Clinton Joyce said the larger site and improved access for customers were the main reasons for the company’s move. “The two key things were access space for trucks so they could get in and out and a better waiting area for customers with passenger vehicles,” he said.

The company, which buys tyres by the container, has also benefited from more storage space. “It’s a larger warehouse space so we’re able to store more tyres to offer better value for customers,” Mr Joyce said.

Raine and Horne Commercial’s Phil Heggie negotiated the deal and said relocating within the same area as their previous premises has allowed the company to expand without losing goodwill.

Mr Heggie said the site needed only minor changed to the apron the suit the company’s needs.
