Happy Brendale Return For Major Discount Tool Centre

For a leading discount tool supplier it was a case of coming home.

After almost a decade away from 2/117 South Pine Road, Brendale, Glenfords Discount Tool Centre has moved back to its former premises.

Glenford's senior business manager Rod Spencer said the store had moved to another premises also on South Pine Road about 8-10 years ago.

But recently Glenfords found it needed a larger warehouse space and the logical choice was to return to 117 South Pine Road.

"So we're basically coming home," Mr Spencer said.

"This property came up under new owners and with a good lease agreement we've now moved back."

Negotiated by Raine & Horne Commercial's Matthew Thomson, Glenfords will pay $133,200 gross a year for six years with two 5-year options. The 900sqm freestanding building is made up of a 630sqm showroom & 270sqm warehouse, including 70sqm of office space.

It has 10 car parks and trailer access down the side.

"We try and maintain a long-term presence in a lot of our leases, so relocating the branch is one out of the box for us," Mr Spencer said. Brendale suited Glenford's core business of tradies and home renovators.

"We find that Brendale itself is very much an industrial hub," he said.

"There are a lot of bulk dealers so a lot of the businesses immediately surrounding us definitely compliment the type of industry that we try to sell to, which is tradies and also general public."

Glenfords has redone all the signage and is in the middle of fitting out the property.

Mr Thomson said South Pine Road at Brendale in Brisbane's northern suburbs continued to be a popular industrial precinct.
