18/11/2011 - Group claims bigger home

A summer of natural disasters has seen insurance claims management company Stream Group expand its staff and outgrow its Strathpine premises. The group has now signed a lease for office space at Alderley which it hopes will accommodate expected further growth this year.

The group has leased 525sqm of office space at 33 South Pine Road for two years with a two-year option. The lease is worth $128,000 a year and was negotiated by Hudson Dale, of Raine and Horne Commercial.

Stream Group managing director Don McKenzie said the group underwent significant staff expansion because of the “event-heavy” summer of 2010 and 2011. Mr McKenzie said they expected another busy simmer and were preparing to increase staff again. “We’ve got a great team that we’re keen to keep together, so the move further in towards the city wasn’t necessarily and easy choice as many of the team live on the far northside, some even on the Sunshine Coast,” Mr McKenzie said. “But I think once they see the new space they’ll appreciate the choice.”

Mr Dale said the building had good roadside frontage and exposure, he said the previous tenant had the property well set up with data cabling, which suited Stream Group’s needs. He said the 11 car parking spaces were a significant bonus. The lease involves a three-month rent-free incentive.
