An expanding solar power company has secured its first Brisbane address, leasing an Eastern Brisbane office/warehouse.
Beyond Building Energy, a subsidiary of Beyond Building Systems, has moved into 1/370 Nudgee Rd, Hendra, on a three-year lease.
BBE's Brisbane sales manager Dan Berryman said the property was being fitted out and should be fully functioning by next month.
"Business is going ridiculously well" he said. "These premises have been set up as our Brisbane sales office and a major warehouse. We currently have eight staff here and are looking to get up to 15 to 20."
BBE currently operates in Australia from locations in Byron Bay, a solar showroom in Tweed Heads South and warehouse facilities at West Burleigh on the Gold Coast.
In a deal negotiated by Raine & Horne Commercial's Lawrence Temple, BBE will pay $145,530 a year as well as outgoings and GST for the 1314sqm clearspan office/warehouse with 7m internal height.
The Hendra property's Nudgee Road frontage- with an opportunity for signage- five car spaces and proximity to the Gateway's on/off ramps were attractions.
Mr Temple said the property, owned by the Motor Accident Commission SA, was leased within 30 days. "We had a number of inspections and two other offers to lease on the table when this deal was accepted." he said.
Mr Temple said while the property was 20 years old he could understand the interest. "Hendra is a very desirable location for people who want to interface with the Gateway Motorway and the airport." he said. "But there aren't many large industrial buildings in Hendra which has become more of an office precinct."
