05/11/2010 - Sealing A Tasty Deal

A food packaging distributor had been chewing over a move for some time before snapping up an industrial facility on the Redcliffe peninsula for $1.39 million.

Peninsula Distribution Services bought the 1,000sqm building at 21 Redcliffe Gardens, Clontarf.

The deal is among a flurry of sales in the area in recent weeks.

Company owner Darren Perkins said the acquisition had enabled the business to expand its product range.

It has relocated from smaller rented premises at Kippa-Ring.

Mr Perkins said he had taken advantage of market conditions to become an owner-occupier. "Between the purchase price and the cost of renting a similar facility, there wasn't much difference in it," he said.

Lawrence Temple, from Raine & Horne Commercial, who negotiated the sale said: "The market is definitely coming back. I've done four deals in the past month in Clontarf."
