A national retailer of camping equipment has pegged out a new Queensland site after, securing a leasing deal in Brisbane’ north.

Camping World has signed a six-year commitment with a five-year option on 1,013sqm of showroom/warehouse space at 690 Gympie Rd, Lawnton.

Tony Mayfield from Raine & Horne Commercial negotiated the deal at a leasing rate of $161,000 gross a year with market incentives.

The property, including 20-plus car parking spaces, was previously occupied by an Autobarn outlet, which has relocated to new premises across Gympie Rd.

Autobarn exited its former premises earlier this year with three years still to run on its lease. Mr Mayfield said a new leasing contract was drawn up for Camping Works, which has moved quickly to secure the space.

He said the premises appealed to the outdoor retail specialist because it was the right size and offered main road frontage along with good car-parking and truck access at the rear.

“When this one came up they had been eyeing off a couple of other sites,” he said. “It all fell into place pretty quickly. They hadn’t been looking around for long so their timing was perfect. “Main road sites are sought-after and hard to come by in the area.”

Mr Mayfield said the Pine Rivers area was “faring quite well” and inquiry levels for commercial/industrial stock had remained strong.

“The demand for the area is quite healthy and deals are being done,” he said. “Tenants know it’s a tenants market and they’ve got numerous options at the moment.”
