Raine & Horne Commercial Supporting Estia House

At Raine & Horne Commercial we are excited to be involved with helping Estia House, a respite centre in Mt Gravatt East, Brisbane for children with disabilities. Estia House has a close connection with our company as Director Joseph Grasso's son Anthony who suffers from autism attends the centre.

Anthony said "Estia House gives me a sense of freedom and independance".

Together with a group of proactive parents belonging to the Greek Orthodox Community of Brisbane, Disability Services funding and community support , Estia House was established.

Within 2 years of being operational 91 families of special needs young persons have made Estia House their second home, enabling them to take a genuine break up to four weeks, and spend time with the rest of their families , knowing that their young person is also having a holiday break.

To meet the ongoing quality care needs of young persons at Estia House such as specialized equipment, facilities and provision of fun and learning activities so young persons are also taking a break and developing new skills ...

Ongoing community support and fundraising is required.

Despite improved Government funding the growing demand for families to access respite is as desperate as ever.

Fundraising to enable quality respite care should not be left to parents and families alone.
